Our Client is looking for a motivated and diligent Cost Engineer to work within our Design Engineering office in London Victoria. In this role you will be working closely with the London design team, China engineering/supply chain and US cross-functional project teams. Day to day you will be assessing consumer product bill of material costs to inform both front end design architecture/ feature intent decision making and in market product optimisations.
Proven cost engineering experience and competencies in application of product cost control principles, methodologies and tools, supporting all phases of project execution especially around Cost Control, Forecasting, Change Management and Reporting, within a large engineering company
Show commercial and technical acumen, working knowledge of project cost controls tools and systems.
Engineering background and/ Knowledge of volume manufacturing techniques
Familiarity Chinese supply chain

Cost analysis of benchmark products, supporting product teardowns and material/ process identification etc
Support development of tools/ templates for the cost estimation process supporting the evolution and continuous improvement in speed and accuracy.
Carry out analysis of supplier cost structures to ensure consistency across the commodity groups – educate Purchasing and Supply base how format to make sure analysis, benchmark and data is accurate and can be used as benchmark in data bases.
Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within the program team and provide full supply chain support for any identified project activities / requirements.
Develop cost tables and cost models using historical data for various manufacturing processes.
Identify cost drivers for individual and cross functional commodities and based on outcome support sourcing strategy and design process.
